These days, the Croatian metropolis lives again in true fashion spirit. The Atelier Green Energy platform is responsible for the long-awaited return of Croatian and regional designers to the catwalks, and the first evening was marked by an independent show by the celebrated tandem Tandarić Šekuljica, better known as ELFS. The combination of fashion, music, entertainment and more than 400 lovers of such manifestations were the right recipe for an unforgettable fashion gathering at the Zagreb Fair.

Refreshments in addition to the attractive fashion show were offered in the form of fresh aromatic Italian prosecco Bottega. Prosecco is normally the most popular Italian sparkling wine, and its popularity is growing in Croatia precisely because of its fluttering freshness and elegance. It is packaged in luxurious and recognizable gold and pink shiny bottles, typical of Venetian aesthetics.

 

And if you’re looking for inspiration and want to make your own refreshing Bottega cocktail at home, here’s their suggestion:

20 ml Giffard raspberry puree

100 ml Bottega Gold prosecco

2 dash fee brothers lemon bitter

 

Bottega Gold Prosecco, from the Italian winery Bottega, is reputed to be one of the best in the world. Their premium prosecco, brut sparkling wine – is produced by vinification of 100% prosecco grapes, i.e. the Glera variety grown on the beautiful Valdobbiadene hills, which are under UNESCO protection. These picturesque hills are famous precisely for prosecco, and are located near the pre-alpine zone of the Veneto and are characterized by an ideal climate for this type of autochthonous grape. They are harvested by hand, gently pressed in the cellar, and the must, in order to preserve its freshness, is stored in steel containers at a low temperature. This is followed by fermentation in a tank for 40 days at a controlled temperature of 14-15 °C with the addition of selected yeasts (charmat method). The golden bottle protects the wine from all sources of light, keeping the aromas and freshness and giving the wine a longer life. Bottega exports its products to 120 countries and is present in most duty-free zones at airports around the world. Every year in the Bottega, more precisely in Villa Rosina, a large building from the 19th century, the traditional “Harvest Festival” is organized, a real ritual from which moments of history emerge, greatly contributed by the guests, actors from Venice, dressed in traditional clothes from the 18th century, and a rich summer dinner in the garden and a concert of classical music: usually opera under the stars.

Prosecco is ideal as an aperitif or accompaniment to light dishes, salads, San Daniele prosciutto and young cheeses. Its name is mentioned as far back as the 18th century, somewhere around 1754, and it is said that long before that, Livia, the wife of the first Roman emperor Augustine, liked to drink Puxinum “Pucino”, (known in literature as prosecco), whose grapes collected “on the slope of Mount Contuel facing the Adriatic Sea, a few thousand km away from Trieste.”

Today, prosecco is one of the most popular sparkling wines in the world. It is produced by the charmat method, in which the second fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks under pressure, and not in bottles as with champagne. In the production of prosecco, the goal is to preserve varietal characteristics and fruit aromas as much as possible, in contrast to the mineral, fermentative and oxidative aromas found in champagnes. Prosecco can be frizzante (slightly sparkling) or spumante (more sparkling). Most of them have extremely pronounced fruit aromas with an emphasis on citrus, peaches, apricots, fresh apples…
